Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
